The 2024 Mid-American Conference (MAC) football season was chaos and comeback stories. It was the first time since 1996 that the conference dropped its East and West Divisions, instead choosing a battle royale-style format. While the battle was tough, Miami (Ohio) and Ohio emerged as co-leaders, both finishing 7-1 in conference play. But that’s not all.

2025 MAC Football Schedules by Team
This was the first time their famed “Battle of the Bricks” rivalry played out not once, but twice. Ohio made a comeback after their regular-season loss and steamrolled Miami 38–3 to win their first MAC title since 1968.
Parker Navarro ran the show with four total touchdowns, while linebacker Bradley Weaver and kicker Gianni Spetic earned Defensive and Special Teams MVP honors. This was also the last season with just 12 members in the MAC.
The 2025 season is right around the corner, and this time, the MAC will have a new name on its list: UMass. This is year two of the league’s no-division format, where every team rotates through all 12 opponents over three years.
As for the structure, conference play starts Saturday, Sept. 13, with Kent State hosting Buffalo. The 29th MAC Championship Game will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Ford Field in Detroit.
Game times and TV details for the first three weeks and midweek MACtion will be released this spring. Everything else will come 12 days before kickoff, with games airing on ESPN platforms and CBS Sports Network.
