The 2024 Big Ten Football Schedule has been revealed as they welcome in newcomers USC and UCLA. The new and expanded Big Ten Football Schedule plays host to a plethora of exciting and enticing matchups in 2024.
2024 Big Ten Football Schedule Revealed
In 2024, the Big Ten welcomes two new teams from the Southern California market: USC and UCLA. The additions of the Trojans and Bruins expect the Big Ten to compete with the SEC for conference supremacy.
And the taste of the potential matchups on the future schedule for 2024 has proven that.
Announced first, the “protected rivalry” games that the Big Ten will host. Those protected annual rivalry games will be played every year while every other rivalry game will rotate.
The protected rivalry games are:
- Michigan vs. Ohio State (The Game)
- Michigan vs. Michigan State (Paul Bunyan Trophy)
- Minnesota vs. Wisconsin (Paul Bunyan’s Axe)
- Minnesota vs. Iowa (Floyd of Rosedale)
- Nebraska vs. Iowa (Heroes Trophy)
- Maryland vs. Rutgers
- Indiana vs. Purdue (Old Oaken Bucket)
- Illinois vs. Purdue (Purdue Cannon)
- Illinois vs. Northwestern (Land of Lincoln Trophy)
- USC vs. UCLA (Victory Bell)
Such rivalry games like Ohio State vs. Penn State, Michigan State vs. Penn State (Land Grant Trophy), Michigan vs. Minnesota (Little Brown Jug), Indiana vs. Michigan State (Old Brass Spittoon), Iowa vs. Wisconsin (Heartland Trophy), and more are now left to rotate annually, similar to how teams in separate Big Ten divisions treated their rivalry games in the years past.
