“She Will Never Make It Past Collegiate Ball”: Audi Crooks Faces Massive Backlash as Iowa State Hits Latest Low in Brutal Loss to Oklahoma State

Audi Crooks is facing significant backlash from fans on social media as the Iowa State Cyclones find themselves in a difficult position after picking up their fifth straight loss on Saturday.

Crooks recorded 15 points and seven rebounds, shooting 6-for-14 as the Oklahoma State Cowgirls dominated the Cyclones in an 86-58 loss. After the game, fans all over social media were quick to criticize Crooks.

Here are the most noteworthy reactions on X:

“Audi Crooks has been portrayed as a monster basketball player since she was in high school, but if she continues not being able to play defense, she will never make it past collegiate ball,” one fan wrote.

“Teams done figured out Audi Crooks,” another fan said.

“Audi Crooks has got to chill on the flopping, I know you think the refs are against you, but man that s*** is unethical to watch,” a fan wrote.

“Audi Crooks: no footwork, can’t dribble, no defense, can’t shoot, only stay in the paint,” another fan commented.

“Audi Crooks’ defense is TERRIBLE. Basically non-existent,” a fan opined.

Following Saturday’s loss, the Cyclones are now 2-5 in the Big 12. Despite the team’s struggles, Crooks is having a solid season, averaging 26.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.

Audi Crooks was named to the watch list for a prestigious award

Audi Crooks has been one of the best offensive players in college basketball, despite the Iowa State Cyclones’ struggles this season. Her stellar play has seen her named to the watch list for the 2025-26 John R. Wooden Award.

Her dominance in the paint and effort on the glass remains unmatched. She leads the country in scoring with 26.9 ppg. However, with the Cyclones struggling, fans have begun to point toward Crooks’ alleged lack of effort on defense.

Many claim that the center, who is easily one of the best offensive players in women’s college basketball, might not go past the collegiate level if she doesn’t improve on defense. The Cyclones will return to the court on Wednesday against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
