The freshman twin guards from the Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball, Mia and Mya Pauldo, are reportedly entering the transfer portal. Both were top-100 recruits and McDonald’s All-Americans out of New Jersey. Since Tennessee had a deep guard rotation, the opportunities were limited, prompting their move to the transfer portal.
Let’s take a look at five programs that would want the twins on their rosters for the 2026-27 college basketball season.
5 Potential Landing Spots for Tennessee Stars Mia and Mya Pauldo
1) Rutgers Scarlet Knights
Mia and Mya were born and brought up in New Jersey. Using this transfer portal, they would like to return to their home state and if they were to do so, the women’s basketball program stands out. With the Scarlet Knights, the twins can get more playing time and an expanded role as the program is in rebuilding mode and doesn’t have any spot lockdown for veterans.
2) Seton Hall Pirates
Seton Hall is another option if they want to feel close to their home state. The Pirates system values guards more than several programs out there, giving the twins the perfect place to shine. Moreover, this program is also less crowded in the guard position as compared to other SEC schools.
3) Louisville Cardinals
Everyone wants to play for a good program and Louisville is one. Known for developing strong guards, the Cardinals could prove to be the most exciting and challenging for the twins to be.
With Louisville, the twins would more likely than not get to play in March Madness. Therefore, the Cardinals could give the twins good exposure and a development place.
4) Maryland Terrapins
The Terrapins are close to the East Coast, making them feel a lot closer to their home. Their up-tempo offense suits quick, playmaking guards. Moreover, they have been a proven supplier to the WNBA, giving both of them good visibility.
5) LSU Tigers
Nothing can come better to the twins than the opportunity to play under one of the most elite coaches in the SEC and probably in all of women’s basketball. Kim Mulkey is the head coach of the Tigers and she is a proven denominator. Moreover, the head coach is known to be aggressive during the transfer portal and if she sets her eyes on the twins, it’s almost a done deal.
However, the risk with LSU is crowded rotation and limited playing time. If Mia and Mya Pauldo are not able to make their way into good amount of playing time, their careers are at stake.
