“Get to the Big Dogs”: Jada Williams Details Reasons Behind Joining Kim Mulkey’s LSU

Jada Williams was easily one of the most sought after guards in women’s college basketball during the transfer portal, and it came as a big sigh of relief for LSU fans that she decided to transfer to the college program for her 2026-27 campaign.

Now entering her senior year, Williams was faced with a big decision as she attempts to win the big one in college before entering the WNBA draft, where she’s expected to be one of the top players being considered next year.

In a recent interview, Williams went into a bit of detail about what made her choose LSU and why she felt it was time to move on to greener pastures after a year at Iowa State.

“I want to be able to lead the best, play with the best, guard the best, play against the best and LSU had the whole thing,” she said.

“We’re playing in the SEC so I’m excited to switch conferences, get to the big dogs and show everybody that I’m a dog too. Speaking for them and the rest of my teammates, we’re going for a natty so we’re coming in, putting our foot on the gas and not letting up until we get that ring.”

Can LSU Actually Win the Natty?

Jada Williams’ confidence is telling and gives us a glimpse inside the LSU Tigers locker room where the belief seems incredibly high that they can get the job done this year.

Despite the loss of Flau’jae Johnson to the WNBA in particular, the Tigers still have Mikaylah Williams and crucially MiLaysia Fulwiley returning, making Kim Mulkey’s squad one of the strongest in the SEC, giving them a definite chance to compete for the natty even with some tough competition around.
