Paige Bueckers is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in women’s college basketball. She will soon start working under Coach Chris Koclanes of the Dallas Wings. Thus, Coach Geno Auriemma has offered brilliant advice for her new coach.

Geno Auriemma’s Witty Wisdom
While Bueckers is a star, Coach Auriemma is a legend. Over the years, he has worked with several stars, and that has improved his handling of college basketball stars and ensured continued success. During a recent interview on ESPN about the WNBA Draft, Auriemma was asked what advice he would give Bueckers’ next coach.
“Pretend Everything is OK.” He continued, “Be ready for her to challenge you, and you should challenge her. She is a risk taker, and you’re gonna have to live with some of the risks because most times they actually pay off.”
He also said, “At the end of the day, keep in mind she wants to win as much as you do, and she will spend more time in the gym than you do.”
These comments highlight just how much Auriemma appreciates all the hard work Bueckers has put into her game. Nonetheless, the statement “challenge her” shows that the coach must be in control, even though he should give Bueckers some freedom.
For such a young player entering the WNBA, the pressure will be intense. Moreover, managing such a skillful player can be challenging. Expectations for Paige will be high during her first few games.
Thus, she needs to feel that everything is alright. Otherwise, she might not live up to her full potential.
The Start of An Exciting WNBA Career
Bueckers is joining the Dallas Wings for the upcoming WNBA Season. Although they had one of their worst records last season, bringing in such a star is expected to improve the team’s performance in the forthcoming season.
