Paige Bueckers Climbs UConn’s All-Time Scoring List
During Wednesday’s matchup against Seton Hall, Bueckers scored her 2,158th career point, moving past Taurasi to become the ninth-highest scorer in UConn history. She needed just 12 points to surpass Taurasi and reached the mark with ease.
This achievement adds another accolade to an already impressive resume for the two-time first-team All-American, who has been UConn’s leading scorer this season.
Bueckers has consistently been the offensive leader for the Huskies, averaging 18.4 points per game. Along with her scoring ability, she also leads the team in assists, averaging 4.6 per game.
With several games left in the season, she is expected to continue climbing the scoring ranks, with Kerry Bascom (2,177 points) and Nykesha Sales and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (both tied at 2,178 points) within reach.
Fans took to social media to react to Bueckers’ historic night. The X page of UConn on SNY shared the moment, captioning:

UConn’s Legacy in Women’s Basketball
UConn has long been one of the most dominant programs in NCAA women’s basketball under head coach Geno Auriemma. Currently ranked fifth in the standings, the Huskies have produced some of the WNBA’s biggest stars, including Sue Bird, Maya Moore, and Taurasi.
Taurasi, who has played in the WNBA for 20 seasons, remains the league’s all-time scoring leader with 10,646 points.
A three-time WNBA champion and one of the most accomplished players in history, Taurasi has hinted at retirement but has not yet made it official. While one era may be coming to an end, Bueckers is making her own mark and could be the next UConn star to shine at the professional level.

UConn fans will be watching closely as she continues her historic run, hoping she can guide the team to another deep postseason run before moving on to the next level.
