“Crucify Her”: Dawn Staley Faces Backlash from Fans After Slamming Valkyries Reporter

Dawn Staley is never shy of speaking her mind, but her latest dig seems to have found herself stuck between two schools of thought.

The South Carolina Gamecocks Women’s Basketball Head Coach came after a Golden State Valkyries reporter for allegedly showing some bias in his reporting, with former Gamecock Laeticia Amihere specially in question.

Staley took the reporting a bit personally and believed the reporter wasn’t doing his job well enough, providing his opinion where it wasn’t needed.

While many did support Staley in her claim, a significant majority of fans and experts alike have come out to speak against the former WNBA player.

Dawn Staley Always Protects her Former and Current Players

The support from Dawn Staley for Gamecocks young and old is nothing new. The head coach has consistently maintained that if you’ve been a Gamecock once, you’re going to be one for life.

Perhaps this is why she has the respect of the locker room and players keep in touch with her long into their WNBA careers, constantly crediting her for making them the human beings they later became.
