The Chicago Sky aren’t done revamping the roster after trading Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday. Sky GM Jeff Pagliocca hopes to have another All-Star to take over the void left by Reese.
On Thursday, WNBA insider Roberta Rodrigues reported:
“The Chicago Sky is in conversations with Skylar Diggins and both sides might make a decision soon, multiple sources tell me.”
Diggins played her last two seasons with the Seattle Storm. Last season, she averaged 15.5 points, 6.0 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. Diggins earned an All-Star selection, the seventh in her career.
If both sides can reach an agreement, Skylar Diggins could become the face of the Chicago Sky backcourt. Pagliocca, who offered Ariel Atkins a core designation, reportedly wants to trade her to the LA Sparks for Rickea Jackson.
Pagliocca might not also bring back franchise legend Courtney Vandersloot, who went down with a right ACL injury in June. Only backup guard Sevgi Uzun, who has received a qualifying offer, could be back from last year’s backcourt.
If the report about Skylar Diggins is true, she could become Camilla Kardoso’s co-star in Chicago.
