On Friday, Caitlin Clark’s heroics were once again on full display after she hit a clutch three to send the Indiana Fever-Washington Mystics game into overtime. However, the crowd inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse would go home disappointed after the Mystics pulled off a 104-102 victory in the extra period.

It didn’t take long for veteran analyst Jason Whitlock, a fierce CC supporter, to make his voice heard on this latest Fever loss. According to Whitlock, it’s time for heads to roll in Indiana.

“This game should change everything in the Fever organization. Fire Stephanie White and the whole organization built around Caitlin Clark. Boston’s contract makes no sense if she’s not in pick-n-roll with Clark. You cannot put the toothpaste back in the tube. It’s Caitlin’s team. Period.”

Whitlock is not the first, nor will he be the last, to call for Stephanie White to be fired as Fever head coach. With Indiana starting off the season 1-2, however, the clamor for White’s dismissal is once again picking up steam.

Clark finished the game with 32 points, four rebounds, and eight assists. Kelsey Mitchell added 24 points on 40.0% shooting in this two-point Fever loss. Meanwhile, Aliyah Boston (nine points, four rebounds) left the game early after sustaining an apparent lower leg injury.

“Really, Really Battled”: Caitlin Clark Comments on Struggles in Fever-Mystics Game

It took some time for Caitlin Clark to get going on Friday against the Mystics, but as she stated in her post-game interview, she remained determined to knock down her shots.

“That’s like the hardest thing as a basketball player, is when you’re not making shots, to really stay in it. So, I was certainly proud of myself. Really, really battled.”

The two-time WNBA All-Star will have to maintain her confidence as the Fever look to get above .500 over the next few games.
