On Wednesday, ESPN’s Holly Rowe found herself in a tough spot when she tweeted an update about the ongoing CBA negotiations between the WNBA and the players association. While the update appeared to be positive, as it hinted at the league and the players association finally settling on a new CBA, a certain line in Rowe’s tweet may have compromised the source of her intel.

The controversial line in the tweet seems to point to someone associated with the WNBA itself as the individual who fed Rowe her information.

“Just so you have on background – no attribution to me or the league…”

An hour after Holly Rowe posted the tweet, she deleted it. However, that didn’t stop WNBA fans from seeing and reacting to the controversial line.

“I love that Holly Rowe accidentally confirmed the league leaks the details to them to spread so they can rally up the public to call the players greedy and pressure them into accepting pennies. It didn’t work outside of a certain group of people, but yea lol”

“Sounds fake … Holly rubs elbows with ALL those players”

“How does she keep her job.”

“Ozempic got her brain in a fog. I should say Rowe-zempic!”

“The math doesn’t add up. The league is lying and Holly literally just c&p’d what the league told her to say”

“90 year old Rowe wouldn’t know Swin Cash from a pile of cash”

To date, there is still no official word that the WNBA and WNBPA have come to an agreement. Unfortunately for Holly Rowe, her now-deleted tweet has not quite added clarity to these circumstances.

Holly Rowe Reacts to Fan Expressing Appreciation for Her Presence at Jazz Game

Though Holly Rowe is still feeling the backlash from her deleted tweet, she does have her supporters.

When Rowe made her presence felt during a Utah Jazz broadcast earlier this week, one fan tweeted that it was “good to hear” her voice. Rowe went on to reply to this tweet.

    “Aw thanks!’

Rowe first joined the Jazz broadcast team in 2021. Though she’s drawn the admiration of some fans for her work on that panel, her recent activity on social media has done exactly the opposite.
