“Trades Will Happen”: Paige Bueckers Fires Up Expectations From WNBA Free Agency After Angel Reese to Dream Trade

Even before the 2026 free agency began, the Chicago Sky and the Atlanta Dream left the world in shock with a blockbuster trade involving Angel Reese. According to Paige Bueckers, the move is only an early glimpse of just how wild the offseason could become.

During a recent chat with TMZ, Bueckers hinted that even bigger developments could be on the way. She suggested that the Reese trade was just scratching the surface, with plenty more chaos expected in the coming weeks before the regular season tips off later in May.

“It’s about to get crazy… Trades will happen, people will find their home,” Bueckers said.

This year’s free agency class is massive, with more than 100 players hitting the market because of the new collective bargaining agreement. That includes some of the biggest names in the league like A’ja Wilson, Jonquel Jones, Jackie Young, and Nneka Ogwumike. With so much talent available at once, it’s easy to see why Bueckers believes things could get hectic. Fans might be in for a stretch where big moves keep coming one after another.

The timeline is tight too. Teams can start talking to players on Apr. 8 when the negotiation window opens. Just a few days later, on Apr. 11, deals can officially be signed.

Paige Bueckers to potentially reunite with gf and UConn star Azzi Fudd

The Dallas Wings hold the No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft, and many expect them to select UConn star Azzi Fudd. If that happens, she would reunite with her former college teammate Paige Bueckers, and also join her as her partner after the two confirmed their relationship in July 2025.

UConn fell short of a national title this season, losing 62-48 to South Carolina in the Final Four. Even so, Fudd had an outstanding senior year, putting up 17.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.

If Fudd joins Dallas, the team could quickly become one of the strongest cores in the league. With Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale leading the way, along with key contributors like Maddy Siegrist and Myisha Hines-Allen, the Wings would have a balanced and dangerous lineup.
