    Skylar Diggins Unloads Frustrations Over Sky Bench Role After Courtney Vandersloot’s Return to Chicago

    Skylar Diggins has hinted at a probable change in the Chicago Sky’s offensive strategy with her latest Instagram post on Tuesday. The team has a 6-14 record and is second-to-last in the conference. The guard has spoken openly about the team’s lack of maturity, both on and off the court, after the team lost back-to-back games to the Las Vegas Aces. And now, it seems she has once again got the Sky’s management on target.

    In her latest Instagram story, Diggins wrote:

    “Now I’m coming off the bench??????{thumb emoji}

    Cool “

    In the next story, the guard said:

    “The crazy part about it all is I’ve been so quiet. I’ve been so good and quiet. I’ve been so good and quiet.”

    Diggins seemed frustrated with a possible change to the starting roster. The only possible option would be to play

    Courtney Vandersloot said her game complements Skylar Diggins

    When Courtney Vandersloot was out due to her torn ACL, she told the media on May 1 how things might work out once she joined the squad. She felt confident in playing alongside Skylar Diggins and said:

    “Skylar’s ability to score the basketball I think makes it so that we can really play together. … She’ll hold it down at the point until I get back and then when I get back, we’ll share the position.”

    Diggins signed with the Sky in the 2026 offseason on a two-year deal after Vandersloot missed almost the entire last season due to her injury. This time was inevitable. It seemed unlikely that Coach Marsh would play the two together on the starting squad, and given the team’s regular-season performance, a change in strategy only seems natural.
