Jason Whitlock is as renowned for his social and political views as his hard-hitting takes on various sports. Every so often, Whitlock merges these fields seamlessly, just as he did with an explosive tweet on Sunday.

As the veteran columnist and podcaster reacted to UConn’s stunning win over Duke in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, a fan asked him an off-topic question.

“Why does azzi fudd have more commercials than Caitlin Clark?”

Whitlock, a conservative commentator, offered his perspective.

“She’s gay and dates Paige Bueckers.”

Viewed from another standpoint, Jason Whitlock’s comment is a reaffirmation of his admiration for Caitlin Clark. For quite some time, Whitlock has sung the praises of the Indiana Fever superstar. On one occasion, he compared the WNBA to an underwhelming deli that happened to serve a particularly tasty meatloaf. Explaining that analogy, Whitlock claimed that Clark is the only must-see attraction in the league.

Whitlock’s fandom for Clark has led him to take shots at other stars of women’s basketball. Last year, after UConn defeated South Carolina to win the national championship, the host of “Fearless With Jason Whitlock” claimed that the Huskies could have pulled off that feat without Bueckers, who’d been widely projected to go first overall in the 2025 WNBA draft.

“Let’s quit pretending the best player on UConn’s all star teams did more than Caitlin Clark. UConn would’ve won today without Beckers. Long live CC!”

Ironically, when a fan called out Jason Whitlock for his “terrible take on an amazing woman who has worked so hard,” he sarcastically replied that Fudd (not Bueckers) “deserves flowers.”

“The Highest Praise I’ve Ever Received”: Jason Whitlock Reacts to Claim That He Is “Most Disliked Person at ESPN”

This past week, Bobby Burack of sports site OutKick claimed that Jason Whitlock is an unpopular figure at ESPN. Living up to the title of his podcast, Whitlock replied by assuring Burack that he is unfazed by this claim.

“‘The most disliked person at ESPN’ is the highest praise I’ve ever received. I say that sincerely.”

Whitlock went on to tag ESPN’s Hannah Storm and Andraya Carter, claiming that they are two personalities at the network that “love” him.
