The Las Vegas Aces continued to bolster their depth by signing Chennedy Carter to a training camp contract. One area the Aces wanted to address this offseason was offensive depth, and on Wednesday, they made a move in that direction.
Carter will be one of several players looking to secure a roster spot out of camp.
Angel Reese, who played with Carter during her rookie season, was quick to make her feelings known:
“Rooting for you Chen,” Reese wrote.
Former Indiana Fever forward and current Las Vegas Aces player Brianna Turner said:
“Proud of you 🤪 See you soon.”
Sydney Colson and Aerial Powers also chimed in with comments.
“Yea, Chen!” said Colson.
“It’s go time!🔥” added Powers.
Both Colson and Powers played together in Indiana last year.

Carter spent four seasons in the WNBA after being drafted in 2020 by the Atlanta Dream. However, she rose to prominence during her time with the Chicago Sky, where she averaged a career-high 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 33 games. Now, after a one-year gap playing overseas, Carter is heading to Las Vegas for another shot in the WNBA.
Chennedy Carter will help the Las Vegas Aces in many ways
Chennedy Carter should fit in nicely with the Aces. She will add veteran presence to a roster that features the likes of A’ja Wilson, Jackie Young, Chelsea Gray and Jewell Loyd.
She may also compete with Dana Evans, with whom Carter spent a season with the Chicago Sky. Throughout her career, Carter has been known as an athletic guard who plays intense defense. She possesses a strong three-point shot and can be a solid distributor off the bench. Carter isn’t shy about playing a physical game.
Off the court, she has often been known as a controversial figure in the locker room, including previous issues during her stint with the Sky. However, with a new team and fresh aspirations, Carter will be eager to help the Aces continue their success.
