Dallas Wings’ Jessica Shepard completely outplayed A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces. 6’4 center had a record breaking night as the Wings emerged victorious. They won 95-87 at home. Both Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd were also in their best forms. Paige ended up with 20 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists. Azzi Fudd scored 22 points with 3 rebounds and 2 assists.

Shephard became the second player after Alyssa Thomas to record a 20+ points, 20+ rebounds, 10+ assists triple-double in WNBA history. She scored 22 points, with 20 rebounds and 10 assists. After this performance, she has also tied Caitlin Clark for having the third most triple-doubles in WNBA history.

With Paige, Azzi, Shepard all starting together, Wings looked a dangerous team. This was something that Becky Hammon predicted in the pregame press conference. She also compared star of the night with Warriors legend Draymond Green. After the game, Shepard reacted to that comparison.

Shepard mentioned how Draymond Green has been a champion multiple times and addressed the comparison happily. “He’s willing to do whatever the team needs to win. So in comparison to that aspects of his game, yes. In other aspects, maybe I can score a little better than him,” she said as the reporters chuckled.

What did Becky Hammon say about Dallas Wings?

Hammon heaped praise for the new look Dallas team after Azzi Fudd and Jessica Shepard’s arrival. She talked about their improvement and how dangerous they can be.

“Obviously, it’s a much improved team. They have a lot of great pieces. I think one thing that jumps out is Jessica Shepard’s play. She kinda reminds me of Draymond Green, just that facilitator, doing that dirty work, get other people involved. And really, the offense goes a lot through her from that five spot position,” Becky Hammon said.

“So, she’s something that definitely jumps out. And obviously the addition of Azzi, just another weapon out there. I think Aziah has improved. Over this past year, she has some problems coming in off the bench. So you know, just a very well rounded team. Especially offensively. If you don’t guard them, they’re going to drop 120 on you,” Hammon added.
