For three years, Caitlin Clark has been on the receiving end of intense physicality in the WNBA. The Indiana Fever star hasn’t always been satisfied with the way referees have handled this, but this past weekend, Clark sounded happy for a change.

After the Fever defeated the Seattle Storm 89-78 on Sunday, CC complimented WNBA officials for the way they’ve blown their whistle in the Fever’s first four games.

“I think the refs have done a really good job. It makes the game of basketball better.”

Displaying self-awareness, Caitlin Clark (who went 9-for-9 from the free throw line against the Storm) admitted that the Fever have had to tweak their gameplay in light of the referees’ approach this season.

“For our team, defensively, we need to adjust. We foul all the time, and Steph [White] has told us, we are fouling. And they’re gonna call [these fouls].”

The numbers show that Clark and White are spot-on in their assessment. To date, the Fever are the third-worst team in the league when it comes to committing personal fouls. At the same time, they’re no. 2 in personal fouls drawn and no. 3 in free throw percentage.

In other words, the Fever have embraced the intensity of WNBA defense in the early goings of the 2026 season. This bodes well for their aspirations to book another trip to the playoffs, where even more physicality is to be expected.

Viral Pic Shows Tyrese Haliburton Hyping Up Caitlin Clark’s Three-Point Shooting at Fever Home Game

Though the Fever had to buck the absence of Aliyah Boston, who is dealing with a leg injury, Caitlin Clark had no problem filling the gaps as the Fever defeated the Storm on Sunday.

The crowd inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse helped the Fever maintain their energy throughout the game, and one particularly enthusiastic supporter was Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton. A viral clip from the Fever-Storm game shows Haliburton getting hyped as CC launches an attempt from three-point distance.

Clark finished with 21 points, going 2-for-4 from deep and dishing out 10 assists as well.
