The reigning champions, the Las Vegas Aces, will face the Dallas Wings on Sunday for their last game of the 2026 WNBA preseason. The Aces defeated the Japan National Team 94-78 in their first preseason game.
The Aces retained eight players from their 2025 championship core. They lost Kiah Stokes this summer, who had been with the team since 2022, but also brought in Chennedy Carter and Brianna Turner.
After landing the No. 1 pick in back-to-back drafts, the Wings have rebuilt their roster for the 2026 season. They drafted Paige Bueckers as their franchise cornerstone in 2025 and brought in her Connecticut Huskies teammate Azzi Fudd in 2026.
They have also retained All-Star guard Arike Ogunbowale and added size this summer with the signings of Alanna Smith and Jessica Shepard. The Wings also retained Maddy Siegrist, who averaged 12.7 points per game last season by activating a team clause in her contract.
The Wings have put together a blend of exciting talent and veteran leadership this season and look poised to make the postseason. They were in the WNBA semifinals in 2023 but have gone 19-65 through the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
