Indiana Fever fans slammed Unrivaled’s Hive BC for their allegedly “hateful” post on Aliyah Boston. Boston’s Phantom BC took on Hive in Unrivaled on Sunday.
During the game, Hive BC’s official Instagram Threads account made a post targeting the Fever forward, alleging that she was unfairly using her elbows in the game.
“Y’all, someone tell AB to get those elbows outta here,” the account wrote.
The post was found by Indiana Fever fans who slammed the Unrivaled team, citing the account admin’s “nasty” and “unprofessional” behavior. Here are the most noteworthy reactions on X:
“So nasty and unprofessional to have official admins participating in hate narratives against Aliyah,” a fan wrote.
“Lol they really have no shame,” one fan said.
“They’re tryna be “relatable” but it just comes off unprofessional,” another fan wrote.
“I can see why the clubs have been offline majority of the season. Should’ve kept it that way 🙄,” a fan said.
“Jealousy IS nasty and unprofessional,” another fan commented.
The narrative that Boston uses her elbows, which some fans argue undermines recognition of her defensive work, has consistently been voiced on social media. Despite the noise, Boston earned her first-ever All-Defensive team selection during the 2025 season.
A closer look at Aliyah Boston’s performance in Unrivaled against Hive BC
While Hive BC argued against her use of elbows, Aliyah Boston was leading Phantom BC to a dominant win against it. She recorded 25 points, eight rebounds, three assists and four blocks as the Phantom BC won 84-66.
Following this loss, Hive BC is on the verge of being eliminated from playoff contention. Meanwhile, Boston and Co. lead the standings and have clinched a spot for the postseason, tipping off on Feb. 28.
Boston has been key in Phantom’s dominant run in Unrivaled this season. She is averaging 20.0 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.2 blocks per game, shooting 56%, including 34.9% from 3-point range.
Phantom BC will return to the court on Friday as it faces Rose BC to close out the 2026 regular season.
