As Unrivaled year two raged on, fans had resigned themselves to the fact that they wouldn’t see Angel Reese suit up this season. To the delight of LSU and Chicago Sky die-hards, it was announced earlier this month that Reese would be rejoining her old team Rose BC as an injury replacement for Aari McDonald.

After Rose defeated Laces on Sunday to secure a playoff spot, Reese shared that she’d been hearing from several people within the league for quite some time now.

“From the first day Unrivaled started, they’ve been calling me to come back,” she said. “Everybody’s called me from all teams to my coaches, to my teammates…Obviously, I had some other things that I needed to do and also prioritize my health.”

The prolific businesswoman that she is, Angel Reese also bared that she wasn’t even in the United States when she finally agreed to compete in Unrivaled once again.

“When it was time for me to come back, I was in Australia, and they were like, you wanna come back? And I’m like, alright,” Reese added.

This past Friday, Reese made her season debut in a matchup against the expansion team Hive. Though Rose fell short of a victory, the two-time WNBA All-Star was able to put up 13 points and eight rebounds.

Two days later, Reese pulled down 15 boards and added nine points to help Rose secure a victory over Laces. With this win, Reese and her Rose BC teammates keep their hopes for title retention alive.

On the day that Angel Reese grabbed double-digit rebounds against Laces, she posted a message of positivity on her X account.

“Praying for everyone mentally, physically, and spiritually. Even in the middle of chaos, never forget: you belong and you matter. Keep going,” Reese tweeted on Sunday.

Reese certainly knows about keeping things going in the face of adversity, as he has dealt with online attacks against her character and her skills since her rise to stardom.
