A post from X account @obsrvate claimed that Angel Reese and Jalen Duren were in a social media dispute. The post claimed that Reese’s alleged ex-boyfriend Duren “exposed” her for being in numerous relationships in the past.
It also included an alleged reply from Reese, in which she claimed Duren was spending over $600,000 on her each week while they were allegedly dating. The post amassed more than 2.2 million views in less than 24 hours.
However, there is no truth to the account’s claims, and the entire interaction is fabricated. Neither Duren nor Reese has publicly commented on the other and nothing Reese said in the video matched the post’s claim.
During the first-round playoff series between the Orlando Magic and the Detroit Pistons, Reese did, however, reshare multiple clips of Duren on the receiving end of dunks, once by her boyfriend, Wendell Carter Jr., and more recently by Jamal Cain.
While fans have speculated that Reese’s posts suggest a personal history with Duren, nothing has been confirmed. Some fans have also claimed that the Pistons center hit back at Reese by posting a clip of her getting blocked by Kamilla Cardoso. This claim is also fabricated as there is no such post on Duren’s account.
Angel Reese embraces new start with the Atlanta Dream while Jalen Duren faces elimination with the Pistons
Duren and the Pistons are staring at elimination after going down 3-2 in the first round. Detroit entered the playoffs after finishing its regular-season campaign atop the Eastern Conference with a 60-22 record.
Duren’s production has dropped from 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in the regular season to 10.2 points and 8.4 rebounds in the playoffs. The Pistons will travel to Orlando for a must-win Game 6 on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Angel Reese joined the Atlanta Dream after being traded from the Chicago Sky this summer. She made her preseason debut on Wednesday, recording eight points, seven rebounds and three blocks in an 87-78 win against her former team, the Sky.
