Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever are in a weird spot at the moment. There is a lot of controversy surrounding the fever team in recent past. Head coach Stephanie White is facing a lot criticism from the fans and the analysts. Apart from Fever, the WNBA has also received a splash of that negativity.
Recently, in a promotional graphic, Fever left out their star player Caitlin Clark. This irked the fans as well as the analysts. Many speculated that there is some unrest between Clark and coach Stephanie White. Earlier in the season, there was outburst from fans when WNBA failed to credit Caitlin Clark with two assists in Fever’s loss vs Mystics. They eventually made the correction after 24 hours.
Speculations of unrest added on when Clark had limited game time even though she was at her usual best with 20-point, 10-assists performances. Most recently, there was some discrepancies around Caitlin Clark’s availability. Just an hour or so before the tip-off vs Portland Fire, Fever declared Caitlin Clark unfit to feature in the game. Now another injury report regarding Clark is creating chaos.
“Status Report for tomorrow’s game vs. Golden State: Caitlin Clark – Probable (back),” Indiana Fever posted the injury report. And fans were enraged.
“You guys continue to lie about CC health and the fans know it. We know she’s been damaged from the 2 years of getting her ass kicked while the WNBA stood by and let it happen! This league deserves the wrath that’s coming for mismanaging your cash cow! Dumb dumb league!” One fan accused.
“I fear that Caitlin IS hurting HOWEVER this is the result of Stephanie “Changing her body mechanics”, making her do things her body isn’t used to! Yeah wonder she’s sore, You’re over there destroying her body! ZERO injuries before Steph got her hands involved btw but now a 24 YEAR OLD is having back issues…,” one fan ranted.
“They broke my GOAT,” another fan said.
“You guys have a GENERATIONAL star (I said STAR not player) and you find ways continuously to botch it because she doesn’t fit the mold. It’s stunning to watch,” one fan alleged.
“Clark will be sitting the bench, as soon as we sell enough tickets,” another accused.
“Repeat of 2025 all over again,” one fan commented.
Caitlin Clark’s season so far
Clark was arguably one of the best players in WNBA during her rookie season. However, the next season she had soft-tissue and lower-body injuries. She suffered two left quadriceps strains, a left groin injury, a right groin injury, and an ankle sprain. She could only play in 13 games.
She hoped come this season, she would be 100% fit and would be able to contribute to the team’s success. However, there seems to be issues with her back. She has played 4 out of 5 game so far this season and is set to miss Fever’s 6th. She has averaged 24.3 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists in this season.
