The Commissioner’s Cup championship game will feature the New York Liberty taking on the Las Vegas Aces, but Aces coach Becky Hammon will be without A’ja Wilson, her four-time MVP, on Tuesday. Hammon will be out with an ankle injury, but the injury creates a massive opportunity for Chennedy Carter.
The Aces guard will have a chance to carry the team on her back while their superstar is out, and fans are already expecting her to shine, especially with A’ja Wilson not being able to play.
“laddering chennedy carter to the moon!” one fan exclaimed.
“Jonquel Jones & Chennedy Carter masterclass tonight 👀” another fan added.
“And if Becky don’t play chennedy more than 15mins tonight she needs to be investigated.” another fan noted.
“This is why they picked Chennedy Carter go off tonight,” one fan said.
“But you know she’s gonna play against the Indiana fever on Sunday I’m sure she’ll be ready for that primetime Caitlin Clark game on ESPN 😂,” another fan commented.
“This looks like a Jackie young ,Chelsea Gray, and Chennedy Carter type of game im glad that they are letting the Queen rest her ankle,” another Aces fan added.
Carter has been putting up strong numbers even with A’ja Wilson playing, scoring 14.1 points per game, along with having 1.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game during the season.
A’ja Wilson Not Only Player Injured As Las Vegas Aces Face Injury Bug
With A’ja Wilson out, the Las Vegas are entering the Commissioner’s Cup final against the New York Liberty a lot more short-handed as Janiah Barker (right leg) and Dana Evans (left leg) are also expected not to play because of their injuries.
Meanwhile, the New York Liberty will only be missing Satou Sabally, who is out due to concussion protocols.
