WNBA and WNBPA have agreed on a tentative CBA deal after negotiations went on for months between the two parties, and fans anticipate its impact on Caitlin Clark’s salary. The league has, for the first time, crossed the threshold to trigger a revenue-sharing system. Social media has been abuzz with speculations on new players’ salaries after the new deal comes into place.
The most anticipated name in the speculations is Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever guard is currently in the third year of her 4-year, $338K deal and will have a major impact on her salary. She led Team USA to an undefeated 5-0 run in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers, averaging 11.6 points and 6.4 assists.
As per projections, players’ average salaries could go up to $5.7 million from $1.2 million, a 250% jump. Under the new agreement, the salaries of players with max contracts could go up to $1 million, with super max salaries going up to $1.3 milion and extending to $2 million by the sixth/seventh year.
While fans had doubts over the execution of the new deal, the new agreement would reset the salaries of all players.
However, as she is still under her current contract, Caitlin Clark wouldn’t hit the max pay ceiling until 2027. However, for 2026, she is expected to earn $500,000 with a revised rookie contract, a massive increase from the $78,066 salary she earned in 2025 before the new agreement.
Additionally, in 2027, Clark can earn up to $1.3 million on a max contract as a former All-WNBA, which could surge to $1.7 million in a supermax deal in 2028.
