Caitlin Clark Drops 3-Word Reaction As Aliyah Boston Signs Historic $6.3M Contract

Caitlin Clark was thrilled for All-Star teammate Aliyah Boston after she signed a four-year, $6.3 million contract extension with the Indiana Fever on Friday, reportedly the largest total salary in league history.

According to the Fever, the center agreed to the new multiyear deal, which runs through the 2029 WNBA season under the newly created Exceptional Performance on Initial Contract (EPIC) provision.

Reacting to the announcement, Clark shared a three-word response on X:

    “Absolutely 🙌🏻 congrats AB!!!!!”

The Fever said in a press release that under the league’s new collective bargaining agreement, the EPIC provision allows top-performing players on rookie contracts to renegotiate the final year of their rookie deal as part of a multiyear extension.

To qualify, a player must be named to the All-WNBA First or Second Team, or win Most Valuable Player honors within the first three years of her career.

Boston, who was entering the 2026 season on the fourth and final year of her rookie contract, earned All-WNBA Second Team honors in 2025 after averaging career highs of 15.0 points and 3.7 assists, along with 8.2 rebounds per game.

Aliyah Boston Expresses Excitement Following Extension With Fever

In a statement released by the Indiana Fever, Aliyah Boston shared excitement about what lies ahead.

“I’m super blessed and grateful for this opportunity and to continue my journey here with the Fever. God is good!” Boston said.

“I’m excited for the future ahead for both myself and for our team, and I can’t wait to keep building upon everything we have accomplished so far. Go Fever!”

Boston turned in a strong 2025 season for Indiana. Her 8.2 rebounds per game were a career low, but she was the healthiest star on a Fever team that dealt with numerous injuries and eventually advanced to the second round, pushing the eventual champion Las Vegas Aces to the brink before falling short.

Fever general manager Amber Cox expressed confidence that Boston’s future will be even brighter.

“Despite already being an All-WNBA caliber player, Aliyah has just scratched the surface in terms of the player she can become,” Cox said.

“In addition, her intangibles are unmatched. She is a leader, a connector and consistent contributor to our community. There is not a better person to go down in history as the first recipient of this type of groundbreaking agreement.”

The Fever open their preseason on Friday against the New York Liberty. Their regular season begins May 9 against the Dallas Wings.
