Caitlin Clark Injury: Fever Fans Slam Alyssa Thomas For “Punching and Kneeing” Star After Exit vs. Mercury

Indiana Fever fans slammed Alyssa Thomas, blaming the Phoenix Mercury star for Caitlin Clark’s injury exit in Wednesday’s game. Clark left with 5:15 left in the third quarter and didn’t return. The Fever ruled her out, citing her back injury, for which she’s become a staple on the injury report.

Caitlin Clark’s WNBA record streak ends after injury exit

Caitlin Clark was in the middle of her best offensive streak in the WNBA before Wednesday’s injury exit against the Mercury. The Fever star had scored 20-plus points and dished at five-plus assists in six consecutive games. It was the longest streak for any player in WNBA history.

On Wednesday, however, Clark’s run ended after her injury exit. She had 19 points and eight assists on 5 of 9 shots, including 3 of 4 from three-point range. Clark was 6 of 6 from the free-throw line.

The Fever were up two when she left. They kept the lead afloat and even extended it by six early in the fourth. However, the Mercury crawled back and took a four-point lead with just under four minutes left.
