Angel Reese has sparked a lot of conversation online after her latest activity on Instagram. Fans quickly began comparing it to something Caitlin Clark did about five months ago, with one user pointing out how differently people reacted to the two situations.
Reese recently posted a photo dump from her first two games of the 2026 Unrivaled season. One of the clips showed her jumping up in excitement with her Rose BC teammates, Sug Sutton and Lexie Hull, celebrating together in a tight huddle. She also shared the moment on her Instagram Story and added the caption, “BENCH MOBBBB.”
That post caught attention after X user @PackerBackerJD brought up a similar moment involving Caitlin Clark during the 2025 WNBA season with the Indiana Fever. At the time, Clark commented “Elite bench mob” on an Instagram post. The league later fined her $200 for the remark. When Clark spoke about the fine, instead of getting support, she faced a wave of criticism online. Some users responded with harsh comments like, “Girl shut the f**k up”, “It’s so easy to not like her”, and “you’re so unlikable.”
“So Angel Reese can post about the “Bench Mobb”…..Everything is cool. But when Caitlin Clark did the EXCACT SAME THING….She caught crazy hate, and they were wishing injuries on her,” @PackerBackerJD highlighted, pointing out the contrast.
Clark’s fine wasn’t just about the comment itself. It also came at a time when the Fever bench had been chirping at officials throughout their postseason series against the Atlanta Dream, something many fans felt crossed the line. That frustration spilled over into the reaction she received online.
Reese’s post, on the other hand, was simply about celebrating with her teammates during Unrivaled play. She wasn’t jawing at refs or causing any disruption.
Angel Reese currently averages a double-double in 2026 Unrivaled
On Feb. 10, Angel Reese was announced as the newest player for Rose BC for rest of the Unrivaled season. She made her long-awaited debut on Feb. 20 in a matchup against Hive BC. Although Rose BC came up just short in an 80-78 loss, Reese made an immediate impact with 13 points and eight rebounds.
She followed that performance with another strong outing on Feb. 22, finishing with nine points and 15 rebounds to help secure a 70-66 victory over #3 Laces BC.
Reese is currently averaging 11.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game in the regular season. With one game left before the postseason, she still has a chance to build on those numbers when Rose BC wraps up its regular season against Phantom BC on Feb. 27.
