Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers’ relationship has been making the headlines since the Dallas Wings drafted Fudd with the No. 1 pick. Fudd and Bueckers, former UConn teammates, had confirmed rumors of them dating last year.
Much of the discourse following the Wings’ pick has surrounded Bueckers and Fudd’s relationship. During a press conference on Thursday, Fudd was asked about her relationship with the guard. The question was shut down by a staff member of the Wings.
“Paige announced last year on TikTok that y’all were a couple, and I’m wondering if that is still the case?” Fudd was asked. “And if so, if y’all have talked to any other couples in the league about how they negotiate that dynamic as pro teammates?”
“I understand why you have to ask that question,” a member of the team’s media staff responded. “But we’re going to respectfully decline from commenting on our players’ personal lives.”
WNBA reporter Jeff Pearlman gave his thoughts on the matter, claiming that Fudd and Bueckers are no longer together.
“The Dallas Wings have the No. 1 pick in the draft … Paige Bueckers, whom they drafted No. 1 last year. Apparently, Azzi Fudd and Bueckers are no longer together,” Pearlman claimed.
He continued, saying the Wings had an “amateur” stance on the situation.
“They had choices … They decided to draft Azzi Fudd, knowing that her ex-girlfriend is on the team … a crazy decision. … To expect people not to ask about it is just f***ing bush league amateur bulls***. … The idea that people are not going to ask about it or write about it is f***ing ludicrous.”
While Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers have not confirmed their latest relationship status, fans on social media have been speculating that the two are no longer together after Thursday’s press conference.

While fans and media continue to speculate on Fudd and Bueckers’ relationship, the No. 1 pick has expressed excitement to share the court with her former college teammate.
“I’m excited to play again with Paige,” Fudd said. “She’s an incredible person and an incredible player. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers were a key part of the 2025 Huskies team that won the NCAA Championship. Bueckers went on to be drafted No. 1 by the Wings while Fudd stayed with UConn for another season.
