Angel Reese and Raven Johnson have established a bond on and off the court, going all the way back to their Team USA stint at the 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup. When Johnson announced that her college career had come to an end this week, Reese promptly sent a message of support to her former teammate.

In a lengthy message posted after Johnson’s South Carolina Gamecocks got blown out by the UCLA Bruins in the national championship game on Sunday, Johnson expressed her gratitude to her supporters.

“To my Fams / Fans, thank you for riding with me through every high and every challenge of my college career. It may not have ended the way I dreamed, but I’m beyond grateful for the journey, the lessons, and the growth that came with it.”

Angel Reese went on to share Raven Johnson’s message and captioned it with heartwarming words.

“Proud of you my booskie. Your journey has been so inspiring, and you’re just getting started. See you in the W!”

The relationship between Angel Reese and Raven Johnson has come a long way. Back when Reese was the top star of LSU, the two were involved in epic clashes, including an intense SEC Tournament Final in 2024. On a night when several players were ejected, South Carolina won 79-72.

However, Johnson and the Gamecocks did not emerge victorious this past Sunday as a Lauren Betts-led UCLA squad blew them out 79-51 to claim the 2026 national title. In her last college game, Johnson mustered just three points on 1-for-7 shooting from the field in  30 minutes of play.

In a few days, the next chapter of Johnson’s basketball career will be written as she enters the 2026 WNBA draft. Mock drafts have Johnson hovering around the no. 10 selection, which will be made by the Indiana Fever.

Before the WNBA season tips off, Angel Reese stays busy with her off-court ventures. Recently, her conversation with a controversial guest has gone viral after they exchanged not-so-subtle jabs.

When on-camera host Speedy Morman dropped by “Unapologetically Angel” once again, the topic of red flags came up. After Morman said that Reese’s tattoo of her YouTube channel was a red flag, Reese fired back.

“I think your biggest red flag is that you’re a liar and a mind manipulator.”

This was but one tense exchange between the two personalities, who have notably developed a unique dynamic for the past two years.
