“Morale is Always High”: Angel Reese Praises Dream’s Environment Ahead of Big Clash with Caitlin Clark

The Atlanta Dream held their shootaround interviews on Thursday ahead of their highly anticipated matchup against the Indiana Fever, with star player Angel Reese speaking to the media to discuss her thoughts on the Dream’s start to the new season.

Throwing a new player into the mix can sometimes cause a shift in a team’s chemistry, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with Reese so far.  The 24-year-old arrived in Atlanta for the 2026 season as the Dream’s marquee acquisition and has provided an immediate spark on both ends of the floor.

Reese appears to be adapting well to the systems she’s having to learn with her new team, which is a good thing. The caliber of players the Dream have at their disposal seems to have allowed her to fit right in.

“It’s been great. I mean, starting as a winning season and being around everyone, everybody is just so joyful, even the two losses that we have taken hasn’t felt like a loss, the morale is always high,” Reese said via ESPN’s Kareem Copeland

Reese said constant film room sessions are also equally important to get that familiarity with the team.

“Obviously, in the film room, we get to it, we get after it, cause Karl (Smesko) is very intentional about everything. So that’s the only thing that we like to make sure we’re really locked in on in his film. But the morale of the team, the environment, it’s just been amazing. And I’m truly happy to be a part of the winning team,” she added.

The Dream have only played eight games and are 6-2, but the chemistry they’ve built is already high. It should get even better as the season goes on.

Angel Reese faces Caitlin Clark for the first time this season

Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have faced off five times so far in the WNBA and have created a rivalry that never fails to produce sparks. Clark leads the head-to-head 4-1, but this is the first meeting with Reese on her new team, who are heading into the clash in much better form, off a two-game winning streak, while the Fever are 4-2 and coming off two consecutive defeats

Reese is averaging a double-double of 13.0 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists, while Clark is averaging 20.1 points, 8.1 assists and 4.0 rebounds.
