“Acting Like She Won a WNBA Championship”: Fans Speculate Reason Behind Gabby Williams’ Choke Gesture During Valkyries’ Win vs Angel Reese’s Dream

The Golden State Valkyries got the better of the Atlanta Dream on Friday. Angel Reese got another double-double, but it wasn’t enough for the Dream.

There was one notable incident in the game that caught the fans’ attention. The Valkyries’ Gabby Williams made a choking gesture mid-game. Some fans called out Williams for the gesture, while others claimed she was making fun of herself and appreciated her humility.

Williams made the gesture right after she had missed a free throw late in the game. She then smiled as she walked towards her teammates. The commentator laughed and said she was frustrated with herself.

The Valkyries beat the Dream in close game

Gabby Williams led the Valkyries in a game of fine margins. She had 16 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Kiah Stokes and Kaitlyn Chen contributed 13 points each. Tiffany Hayes and Veronica Burton also chipped in with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

For the Dream, Angel Reese had 15 points, 12 rebounds and six steals. Jordin Canada scored 23 points with three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Allisha Gray had 14 points.

Atlanta (12-6) is third despite a two-game skid. Golden State (12-7) is fourth.
