The 2023 Rose Bowl pits two of the nation’s most notable teams against one another in one of the world’s most notable stadiums. The Michigan Wolverines will square off against the Alabama Crimson Tide as the two winningest college football programs do battle for just the sixth time in history.

When Does ESPN’s Coverage Start?
ESPN’s coverage essentially started at 10 a.m. ET with College GameDay. However, the Rose Bowl specifically will begin its coverage at 4:40 p.m. ET or immediately following the Liberty vs. Oregon Fiesta Bowl coverage.
ESPN’s College Football Bowl game Pre/Post Studio show will present analysis and commentary around the recent games and preview the action.
The ESPN coverage will include a standard broadcast on ESPN and a Field Pass with The Pat McAfee Show on ESPN2. ESPNU is set to broadcast the Command Center version of the game while SEC Network will air the game with Alabama’s Radio Call version.

Who Are the Game Announcers for the Rose Bowl?
A well-known crew will call the 2023 Rose Bowl Game as Chris Fowler will handle play-by-play duties, Kirk Herbstreit is the color commentator, and Holly Rowe and Laura Rutledge will be on the sidelines during the action. Herbstreit is set to call his 16th Rose Bowl Game as a part of the broadcast crew.

The ESPN broadcast isn’t complete without their radio calls, however. Joe Tessitore will handle radio play-by-play duties while Dusty Dvoracek is the radio analyst, and Quint Kessenich will be on the sidelines for the radio broadcast.
ESPN Brazil will also produce an international showing of the game.
Herbstreit Hall of Fame
Ahead of calling his 16th broadcast, Herbstreit will be announced as part of the three-member Rose Bowl Hall of Fame Class of 2023. Herbstreit will enter the historic Rose Bowl Hall of Fame with Cliff Montgomery and Lincoln Kennedy, as his voice has become synonymous with the game itself.
