Trey Amos’ NFL Draft Scouting Report

Trey Amos excelled against SEC competition, showing he can hang physically and mentally with the best in college football. The combination of size, length and athleticism makes Amos a prototypical boundary cornerback from a physical perspective.

He naturally has a larger catch radius and can make impressive plays on the ball with his proactivity, but also moves as fast as a cornerback who’s a few inches shorter. As a tackler in space, Amos’ form isn’t incredibly consistent yet. But as a coverage CB, he’s one of the more well-rounded in the class.

He’s quick, fluid, and malleable in man coverage, a smooth mover and stellar processor in zone, and the type of athlete who can match laterally and limit vertical separation in the same rep. A productive career as a starter should be in his future.

    Trey Amos’ NFL Draft Projection

In CSN’s 7-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from April 12, Hunter landed in Round 2 with the 44th overall pick to the Dallas Cowboys. James Fragoza has this to say:

4.42 40-yard dash? Yeah, that’ll work at 6’1″ and 195 pounds. Trey Amos was a shutdown corner for the Rebels, and he could do wonders across from Trevon Diggs in the Lone Star State.

In a recent 3-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft on CSN, Brian Burden sent Amos to the Minnesota Vikings in the first round:

The All-SEC selection with the Rebels would pair up nicely with Byron Murphy Jr., who led the Vikings with six interceptions last season. The team signed a couple of options in free agency, but Amos most likely would represent an upgrade over anyone else on the depth chart.

The well-traveled Louisiana native totaled 121 tackles and four interceptions between Ole Miss, Alabama, and Louisiana.
