‘Never Seen Another Player Get So Many Endorsements’ – Analyst Disagrees With Texas QB Arch Manning’s Stardom After Latest NIL Deal With Uber

Arch Manning, a scion of the Manning family and among the top football recruits in 2023, has signed a big NIL deal with Uber. This partnership, announced on March 4, introduces a new self-driving taxi service in Austin, Texas, thanks to a collaboration between Uber and Waymo.

Analyst Disagrees With Arch Manning’s Stardom After Deal With Uber

Arch and his father, Cooper, and grandfather, Archie, were part of the funny commercial prompting the service. The ad, posted on Uber’s Instagram, shows the family’s reaction to self-driving cars. With the tagline “Who’s Manning the car?” Archie jokes that the self-driving vehicle might be safer than letting his grandson drive.

After spending last season as a backup quarterback, Arch will start for the Texas Longhorns in the upcoming season. He also has a $6.5 million NIL valuation, the highest of any college athlete.

Meanwhile, some are questioning why Arch is getting so many deals, especially since he has not played much yet.

On the “Crain & Company” show, analyst Blake Crain said: “I’m happy for Arch. I hope he has a great career. I’ve just never seen another player get so many endorsements and all this other stuff who’s done nothing.”

While Arch is still early in his career, he’s shown his skills in the time he spent on the gridiron. He started a game when QB Quinn Ewers went down with an oblique strain after a game against UTSA on Sept. 14.

He played well in that game and the following two starts. Over that stretch, he completed 69.4% of his passes for 806 yards and eight touchdowns, with two interceptions.

In 2024, he accumulated 939 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and four rushing scores. Arch himself said in an interview with ESPN that he doesn’t feel he’s done enough yet.

“I think a lot of undeserved attention,” Arch said. “But hopefully, it gets more deserving in the next few months. I don’t think I’ve done enough yet to be taking a lot of pictures at restaurants and signing autographs. But maybe that will come eventually.”
