Iga Świątek recently parted ways with her coach, Wim Fissette, and shortly after this split, the latter was spotted with Victoria Mboko during her training session. This development has left the fans in doubt about him playing a significant role in the teenage sensation’s game.
Świątek officially started working with the Belgian coach Fissette in October 2024, and in this 18-month partnership, the latter guided the player to her first-ever Wimbledon singles titles. In addition to this, under his guidance, she won two more title, including the 2025 Cincinnati Open and the 2025 Seoul Open.
However, the Pole recently announced the end of their partnership after her early loss at the Miami Open against Magda Linette in the first round in March 2026. Two months after this split, the Pole’s ex-coach was spotted with Victoria Mboko and is now coaching the 19-year-old. Pictures of the same have been making rounds online.
This partnership has left the fans in doubt, as they claimed that he will mess up Mnoko’s play too, like he did with Swiatek. One of the fans on X wrote:
“Good for other players, he will ruin her like he did with Iga and others.”
Another follower taking a dig at the matchup commented:
“Aww, it’s over for her.”
Taking to Reddit, one of the users slammed the coach, writing:
“Fissette is such a glory hunter lol. Mboko has the exact profile of a player he’d jump to coach with her groundstrokes and power.”
A user on X opined on the partnership, stating that Mboko’s game is going to be hindered.
“I feel bad for Mboko. She’s prob going to win a slam like she would’ve have with any other coach and think it’s because of Wim when in reality the development of her game is going to be hindered because Wim has no idea what he’s doing.”
One of the fans mentioned:
“Well…good luck😛💀”
Along the similar lines, another follower chimed in on X:
“Bad decision.”
