Venus Williams Still Gushing Like A New Bride Despite Mother Oracene’s Disapproval As She Shares Unseen Pictures With Husband Andrea Preti

Seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams can’t stop raving about her wedding to Italian model and actor Andrea Preti as they celebrated their first anniversary since getting engaged. The former World No. 1 met Preti at a Gucci fashion show in Milan in 2024.

Their brief interaction quickly blossomed into a relationship. About a year after announcing their engagement, they married in a private ceremony in Italy in September 2025. They later had an even bigger celebration, a five-day wedding festival in Florida in December 2025.

On Saturday (April 4), Williams took to her Instagram account to share some loving and heartfelt engagement pictures with Preti, with a hilarious caption stating that everyone, including her mother, Oracene Price, has asked her to resist feeling like a bride every day since her wedding.

“We celebrated our wedding all year long last year, and even though we are married now, we never stopped celebrating. It’s kind of a non-negotiable for us. I loved being a bride. Andrea says I still get to be the bride every day. My mom says I need to stop! 😅 ” Anyway, these are our engagement photos, taken on the same day today last year, our first time sharing them,” the caption read.

Back on court, the 45-year-old is still searching for her first win in either singles or doubles this season. She is 0-6 in singles and 0-5 in doubles. While receiving a wildcard in most tournaments this year, Williams has failed to break away from her opponents and win a match, which has seriously derailed her season.

Venus Williams’ Next Tournament Remains Uncertain

So far, Williams hasn’t been able to play her brand of tennis, leaving her still searching for her first win of the campaign. After a disastrous run in the Sunshine double, the American veteran hasn’t officially confirmed participation in any events of the clay-court swing.

So far, Williams has been highly selective about the events she plays in, focusing solely on hard-surface tournaments. This could mean that Williams entirely skips the clay season and maybe resumes play during the grass swing or even later during the North American swing.
