Naomi Osaka is known for wearing incredible and stylish outfits at the start of the tournaments. She just dropped a hint for something special to come in the upcoming clay court swing. Osaka, who is recovering from a recurring abdominal injury, is expected to play the Mutua Madrid Open (April 20 – May 3) and the Catalonia Open (April 26 – May 3).
After the second-round loss in the Miami Open, it appeared Osaka’s spirit for the game took a backseat in favor of responsibilities as a mother. She even said there’s no point in playing if she continues to suffer early exits in the WTA Tournaments.
However, ahead of the clay season, she is showing great excitement already. On Threads, she wrote the following:
“spoiler alert: the girlies just might love this seasons clay court vibes.”

After Osaka’s post on Threads, her “girlies” are already talking about it, anticipating what’s to come.
“The Thirlies can’t wait!!!!! ✨🎾” one fan commented.
“it’s me IM GIRLIES it’s like christmas waiting to see what ur gonna wear,” another wrote.
“The girlies are so ready,” one fan added.
“What could top the Red and Blue shoe combo? Still have them btw! ❤️💙 so excited for this season tho!” one fan wrote.

Naomi Osaka’s New Motivation For Tennis After Bringing Daughter To World
Naomi Osaka revealed her pregnancy in Jan. 2023 and gave birth to her daughter, Shai, the following July. Osaka took a maternity break from tennis as she focused on raising Shai. After what she called a “traumatic” experience dealing with postpartum depression, the four-time Grand Slam champion returned to professional tennis in 2024.
Ever since, she has been balancing motherhood and being on top of her game in women’s titles. While she has no Grand Slams to show after becoming a mother, her motivation is no longer the same. In her February digital cover star in Hypebeast magazine, she said:
“When I was young, success meant winning every match. Now it’s just being healthy, being able to play matches, seeing my daughter smile. I would hope my legacy is that I’m someone who made it easier for the generation after. And also someone that made it easy for the people that are different or unique.”
Osaka is still searching for her first Grand Slam title on clay and the preparation for Roland Garros will get underway with the Madrid Open.
