Leylah Fernandez shares an accessible relationship with her fans, often taking to social media to interact with them. She recently held another Q and A session on Instagram, answering some of the most frequented questions.
The youngster compiled some of the repeat questions and posted her response in a combined post. The most frequent query, as she shared in the first slide of the post, was about her dating life.
Fernandez joked about her fans being “so curious” but sidestepped the question, simply writing “got this question the most haha [sic]” in the post.

Notably, Fernandez had towards the back-end of 2025 expressed her interest in going out on a date. Saying that dating apps were not her preferred way to meet people, she invited DMs with personal details to set up a date during her stay in Montreal for the Canadian Open.
“Hey guys,” Leylah Fernandez had said in a social media post at the time, “You know what I really want to do, and that I haven’t done, is actually going on a date. I’m not a big fan of dating apps, so I’m actually going to do things my way.”
Fernandez has spoken about the busy tennis calendar in multiple interviews, noting how between practice and competition, there is very little time left for personal life.

Leylah Fernandez also shared snippets of some of the other questions posed to her during the interaction, the most notable being about her alternative career choice.
This time, the Canadian did answer the query, saying she would have definitely been a soccer player had she not picked up a tennis racket. She also divulged details about her family background and cultural heritage:
“I am Canadian. I was born in Montreal, Canada, speak French and English. My mom was born in Toronto, Canada and my grandparents are from the Philippines. My dad was born in Ecuador and that is why I speak Spanish,” Leylah Fernandez wrote in her instrafram post.
Fernandez did not have the best of starts to the 2026 season, losing in the opening round of the Brisbane International. She went down 6-1, 6-2 to Dayana Yastremska and will next play at Adelaide.
