Jannik Sinner is currently competing at the 2026 Italian Open in Rome, and his coach, Simone Vagnozzi, has revealed an interesting detail about just how strict and observant the Italian is on court. Fans, however, have reacted to it in a lighthearted and humorous manner.

Sinner began his campaign with a straight-sets win over Sebastian Ofner and followed it up with another comfortable victory against Alexei Popyrin to reach the fourth round. During this run, Vagnozzi was asked by a reporter whether there is anything that particularly bothers Sinner during matches, to which he responded:

“You see him very concentrated, focused, but he notices everything. Everything! I can’t even sit one moment in a bad way because he watches you! After the match he will tell you.”

Fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their reactions, with one writing:

“Jannik runs that team like the navy bruh omg they can’t even breathe the wrong way.”

“‘I can’t even sit one moment in a bad way because he watches you! After the match he will tell you.’ never beating the chilling malevolence baby boss allegations,” another wrote.

“He’s so strict with them bye they actually live in a dictatorship,” one user posted.

“My dictator. I’m in tears. They speak of him like he’s Voldemort,” another tweeted.

“Bruh he runs his team like a military training camp,” another commented.

“He’s a freak, I like him that way,” one fan joined in.

Jannik Sinner To Take On Compatriot Andrea Pellegrino In Italian Open 4R

Jannik Sinner is all set to take on his countryman Andrea Pellegrino in the fourth round of the 2026 Italian Open on Tuesday, May 12. Pellegrino is coming on the back of impressive wins over Luca Nardi, 15th seed Arthur Fils and 20th seed Frances Tiafoe.

Sinner had a conversation with the press in Rome about Pellegrino, where he said:

“Playing a derby in Italy is great; he is having an amazing tournament. I expect a tough match; we played many years ago, but we are two different players. It’s fantastic that we are both at this level.”

Whoever wins this match will face either Andrey Rublev or Nikoloz Basilashvili in the quarterfinals.
