Coco Gauff Takes Her Mind Off Tennis Trying New Sport With Her Best Friend Before Starting Clay Season

Coco Gauff was seen at a golf course, hitting long shots with a driver alongside fellow tennis pro Jamilah Nicole. The duo enjoyed a fun night out in Miami, and even played a quick round of pickleball the next day with two other friends, as Gauff prepares to leave home for the important European clay swing.

Nicole shared an image of Gauff from the top golf course, along with a lighthearted caption that read, “Changing sports?” on the Instagram story. The other story showed the two-time Grand Slam champion, Nicole, and two other players posing for the camera, likely after a pickleball game.

Gauff capped off a decent Sunshine swing by contending for the WTA 1000 title in the Miami Open final but came up slightly short against World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.

Now, with a positive momentum on her side, the 22-year-old American will be eyeing a strong run in the claycourt swing, which will culminate with her French Open title defense in May-June.

Gauff is still searching for her maiden title of 2026 and will resume her hunt in Stuttgart, where she is part of an action-packed field of players, gearing up for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix (WTA 500), starting April 13.

Before leaving for Europe, Gauff shared a video reel on her Instagram story from her last night at home, in which she was seen listening to her favorite tracks in a retro style with a vinyl disc.

“Last night home before Europe,” read the caption of the story.

After Stuttgart, the reigning French Open champion will play in the Mutua Madrid Open, which serves as the maiden WTA 1000 tournament on the clay surface. This will be followed by yet another WTA 1000 event in Rome, the Italian Open, which commences in May.
