Jannik Sinner etched his name in history books after completing the career Golden Masters after his Italian Open victory. His achievement drew the attention of Coco Gauff, Carlos Alcaraz, and Novak Djokovic, who dropped their first reactions, lauding the Italian.
Sinner recently won his home tournament at the Italian Open on May 17, completing the golden masters. After delivering strong performances against Alexander Rublev, Daniil Medvedev, and more, he locked horns with Casper Ruud in the finals and produced a dominant win, claiming a 6-4, 6-4 victory. With this triumph, the 24-year-old joined Djokovic as the only two men in history to win all nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments since the series began in 1990.
The Italian so far has won 10 career Masters 1000 titles, winning the Miami Open twice. Notably, he has never dropped a single set in any of the Masters 1000 finals he has won. Following this feat, the prominent faces of the tennis community praised the World No. 1 by sharing kind words online. One of the players to comment on Sinner’s achievement was his on-field arch rival, Alcaraz.
Taking to his Instagram story, he shared the Italian’s achievement and wrote:

Following the Spaniard, Djokokovic welcomed the world no,1 to the club, as he completed his Golden Masters in 2018. Sharing a post on his Instagram story, he wrote:
“Welcome to the exclusive club, Jannik😎”
Coco Gauff also heaped praises on Sinner by leaving a sweet comment under his winning post on Instagram. She wrote:
“Insane.”
With this Italian Open win, Jannik Sinner became the first Italian man since Adriano Panatta in 1976 to bag the title in Rome.

After winning the 2026 Italian Open and completing his Career Golden Masters, Jannik Sinner spoke to the on-court media, making his feelings known about the triumph. Stating that there is no better place than Rome for completing his Golden Masters, he also addressed winning the title after 50 years.
“There’s no better place to complete this set. For an Italian, it’s one of the most special places we play tennis in. To win at least once in my career means a lot to me, Adriano, after 5 years, we’ve won back a very important trophy,” said Jannik Sinner.
Opening up about his finals in Rome, he said:
“There was a lot of tension on both sides, it was not perfect tennis from both of us, but I am really happy. It has been an incredible past two and a half months. I try to put myself in the best possible position every time and do the best I can. Not every day is simple, but I am really, really happy.”
