Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova To Start Qatar Open 2026 Campaigns In Second Round

Gauff is the fourth seed in Doha this year and she has received a first-round bye, meaning she will begin her campaign directly in the second round against the winner of the first-round match between McCartney Kessler and Elsa Jacquemot.

Gauff is a former two-time quarterfinalist in Doha, having reached the last eight of the WTA 1000 event in 2022 and 2023. The former No. 2 will be playing doubles at the tournament as well, partnering 19-year-old Victoria Mboko of Canada.

Meanwhile, reigning champion Anisimova is also slated to kickstart her title defense at the 2026 Qatar Open in the second round. The third seed will square off against either Solana Sierra or Karolina Pliskova. Swiatek is the top seed at the event in the absence of reigning World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who withdrew from the tournament citing a schedule change.
