Aryna Sabalenka has returned to winning ways right after she got engaged to Brazilian entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis. The proposal happened on March 3, and less than two weeks later, she had won her first title in 2026.
More importantly, she also avenged her loss from the 2026 Australian Open Finals against Elena Rybakina, beating her in three sets.
After Sabalenka won the Indian Wells Masters, Frangulis posted a heartfelt reaction along with a photo where the couple shared a warm kiss on the tennis court.
“Couple weeks in California and came back with a big trophy a massive ring and a tiny dog! Such a legend you are meu amorzao. Te Amo Aryna Sabalenka (I love this place and we’ll have to get a house here)”

Sabalenka and the 37-year-old founder of global acai brand Oakberry met at a Formula One Race in 2024. Their relationship was seemingly confirmed after Sabalenka sent a kiss after winning the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome that year. She did the same after she defeated Amanda Anisimova at the US Open last summer.
When she defeated Marta Kostyuk in the Brisbane International, the Belarusian hinted that it was high time that Frangulis takes the courage to propose her in front of the crowd, adding “extra pressure” on the Brazilian businessman.
“Thank you to my boyfriend… Hopefully soon I can call you something else, right?” she said. “I mean, come on, how long?” she later quipped. “I think by now he should figure it out.”

Before arriving in California, Frangulis proposed with the help of a romantic setup beside a pool filled with rose petals and candles. Sabalenka shared the moment on Instagram with the caption:
“You & me, forever ♾️ 3.3.26.”
Frangulis’ engagement ring for Sabalenka received quite the attention online. It was a large oval-cut diamond (around 12 carats) set in platinum, custom-designed by jeweler Isabela Grutman. The Belarusian joked that the sparkle of her engagement ring might distract opponents during matches.
Even during the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, she celebrated her relationship milestone. During her warmups on fans’ demand, she wore a veil and even sent a bouquet flying, suggesting she is prepared to tie the knot.
