“She Is Not 39” – Andy Roddick Goes Scorched Earth On Emma Raducanu Over Latest Tournament Withdrawal

Andy Roddick shared his blunt opinion on Emma Raducanu’s withdrawal from the Nottingham Open. The Brit recently displayed an impressive form at the Queen’s Club.

Raducanu was last seen in action at the HSBC Championships, where she turned heads with her performance. She bested players such as Solana Cristea, Kamilla Rakhimova, Iva Jovic, and more to advance to the finals. In the deciding round, she contested against Donna Vekic, where the latter dominated the Brit, claiming a 6-0, 7-6 (6) victory.

After this tournament, she was scheduled to compete at the Nottingham Open; however, the 23-year-old pulled out from the event rather than pushing through back-to-back weeks. She sustained a scare after slipping and hurting her left thigh during the quarterfinal match against Rakhimova; however, she taped her leg and won consecutive matches to advance to the finals.

Shortly after her decision of pulling out from the tournament, Roddick opened up about Raducanu’s form and sharing his blunt opinions on his withdrawal and not having a consistent schedule, he said:

“I mean, you just got to play. You got to play a ton of matches. You have to. And once you find form, you press the gas sometimes, right? Unless you’re worried about your body. I mean, she’s not 39, you know, like Novak, you got to get and I say this because I’m such a fan of her game,” said Roddick.

Emma Raducanu made her feelings known about her loss at the Queen’s Club finals

After falling short against Donna Vekic at the Queen’s Club finals, Emma Raducanu addressed the media, where she weighed in on her loss and her performance. Despite the loss, she said that she was proud of her battling skills on the court and called it a positive sign, as she hasn’t done it in the past.

Stating that the week was worth celebrating for her, she said:

“The performances I had this week, I played really well. I was able to play and dictate, and that’s something I wasn’t able to do in the final. I managed to get myself back into the second set, and I’m proud of how I fought. That’s not something that in the past years I’ve always done, so that’s a positive. This week is something that deserves to be celebrated,” said Emma Raducanu.

    She added:

“It’s a good achievement for me and I’m proud of it. But right now, it really stings, so I’m going to let myself feel that disappointment today and then try to move on from it quickly. his week has been incredibly special. Playing at home is a feeling like no other. I was in awe of the atmosphere and the support I received throughout the tournament. Even though I knew I was playing at home, I still couldn’t quite believe it.”

Before the withdrawal from Nottingham, Emma Raducanu was scheduled to lock horns with Karolina Pliskova in the opening round of the tournament.
