Naomi Osaka’s 2026 Grass-Court Season
The Japanese started her grass season with a dominant run at Bad Homburg, where she reached the final, her first ever on the surface. She won every match in straight sets before retiring in the final against Karolina Muchova.
Osaka then showed up at Wimbledon and won her first four matches in straight sets. This included a 6-2, 7-6(2) win over Aryna Sabalenka. She faced Muchova once again, but again fell to the Czech in straight sets.
Osaka’s Round of 16 win against Sabalenka helped the Japanese garner a significant milestone, as she has now secured her first-ever win against the World No. 1. Regardless, Sabalenka still leads their head-to-head 3-1.
