Alexander Zverev has stirred controversy after accusing the media of “hating” on him and deliberately overlooking his presence. Fans were quick to react, with many criticizing the German for his remarks.

Zverev had a mixed run at the Italian Open, beating Daniel Altmaier and Alexander Blockx. His campaign ended with a three-set loss to Luciano Darderi in the fourth round.

A few days later, Alexander Zverev took to Instagram to call out Tennis Channel, accusing them of favoritism. He pointed to various tournament features and production segments where he felt his content was being ignored.

“Just a random question @tennischannel why do I do all of these games and all these promotion activities with you guys but then every time I get something right I get cut out of every single one? Just asking if you’re just interested in wasting my time or just hope that I get something wrong so you can then put that in? I know you have players that you love to hate on and players that you love. so just please stop wasting my time then. Thank you,” Zverev wrote.

Fans have now taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their reactions to Alexander Zverev’s comments. One user wrote:

“He has such a high opinion of himself and is such a narcissist i think someone needs to tell him to his face that basically everyone thinks he’s a piece of sh*t.”

“He’s such a loser. A big one. I know the lot of you turn a blind eye to the assault allegations but how do you also turn a blind eye to the sheer amount of loser traits he has,” another wrote.

“I’m a little surprised he didn’t end the text with a ‘if it were Carlos you wouldn’t have cut it’ ijbol he really thinks it’s tennis media fault that he is not loved,” one user posted.

“Crying about bs like this as if he shouldn’t be thankful about the fact that he’s already liked more than he should be only because some casuals chose to be ignorant,” another tweeted.

“The obvious answer is people getting it right isnt entertaining. They had one person get it right as the ‘straight man’ Its NUTS to think its some personal vendetta. Honestly its why he cant win big either. The courts against me. Luck is never on my side. Get over yourself,” one user commented.

“Zverev basically telling on himself here that all the content he films is boring and gets cut. There’s a reason you’re not making the videos bud and it’s your personality,” another joined in.

Alexander Zverev Comes Under Fire From Adriano Panatta After Italian Open Exit

Alexander Zverev has come under fire from Adriano Panatta, who said he finds the German’s game quite boring and was also unimpressed by his childlike behavior during the match against Luciano Darderi at the Italian Open.

Panatta said on the podcast La Telefonata:

“I watched the highlights of the match. Honestly, I’ve reached a point where, on principle, I don’t even watch Zverev anymore, because I get bored. I already know what he’s going to do.”

“Anyone can win the first set and then let the second slip away, even with multiple match points. That happens. But what’s more worrying is that he simply didn’t play the third set. He sometimes reacts like a child,” he added.

Next up for Alexander Zverev is the Hamburg Open, set to begin on May 19, which will serve as a key warm-up event ahead of the French Open.
