“Alexander Zverev Should Keep His Mouth Shut” – Emma Raducanu Fans Furious At German After Controversial Comment On Brit’s Coaching Situation

World no. 4 Alexander Zverev had some interesting things to say when asked about Emma Raducanu’s frequent coaching changes in recent years. In a post-game interview at Indian Wells, the German reflected on his win over Matteo Berrettini and then answered a journalist’s question about Raducanu.

“I think Emma is a very special case. I love her, really, but her situation with coaches is very different from mine. I have been training with the same person for 28 years, so the question for me is a bit different, a very specific issue,” Zverev said.

“She has a coach here, right? She’s with Mark Petchey, so it depends on her; I don’t know. In my case, I have the same people by my side, the ones I like to work with, that’s just how I am,” he added.

Raducanu fans were quick to notice the German’s comments and voiced their opinion on social media, defending the Brit No. 1.

“Emma has achieved more than he ever will in his miserable career, so I think he should keep his mouth shut!!” one fan commented.

“Haha, you haven’t won a major, though,” another fan commented.

“He sets himself up so easily, yet another fan commented.

Amid all the criticism, some fans defended Zverev’s take on Raducanu’s frequent coaching changes.

“Yet his career is infinitely better than hers,” one fan commented.

“He’s a pro; he qualified to speak on this matter,” another fan commented.

“He’s a consistent top 5 player, and the WTA has nobody like Sincaraz. Raducanu isn’t half the player Zverev is,” yet another fan commented.
