Notre Dame is experiencing a very active spring transfer portal window. With under two weeks until the portal closes, let’s examine the Fighting Irish’s biggest transfer portal departures.

Players Leaving Notre Dame Via the Transfer Portal
CB Jaden Mickey, California
Junior corner Jaden Mickey has two years of eligibility remaining and has decided to transfer to the California Golden Bears. While with the Irish, Mickey had 23 tackles, three pass breakups, and one interception for a touchdown.
OL Rocco Spindler, Nebraska
Spindler committed to Nebraska in February after visiting Indiana, Pitt, and Virginia. The offensive lineman played 23 games over two seasons for Notre Dame and had 1,325 snaps to his credit.
OL Pat Coogan, Indiana
Coogan, who played at center and left guard for the Irish, will now be doing so for the Indiana Hoosiers. He played 13 games for the Irish in 2024.
“Coogs is an unbelievable leader,” Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman recently said in an On3 article by Wade Peery.
WR Deion Colzie, Miami (OH)
Deion Colzie is moving on to play for Miami (OH) next season. He played in 16 games for Notre Dame and had five catches for 41 yards and a touchdown. He also played some snaps at quarterback in short-yardage situations.
OT Ty Chan, UConn
An offensive tackle for Notre Dame, Ty Chan transferred to the Connecticut Huskies for next season. He played in 14 games over two seasons for Notre Dame and has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
WR Jayden Thomas, Virginia
Jayden Thomas is another Notre Dame wide receiver on the move. In three seasons, he caught a combined 64 passes for 838 yards and seven touchdowns.
The spring portal window starts on Wednesday, April 16, and will close on Friday, April 25.
