Shedeur Sanders has been the talk of the town ever since the former Colorado Buffaloes player fell in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Many believed the American football player would be picked much earlier, at least on the second day. However, that wasn’t the case, and he continues to become the conversation target. Meanwhile, head coach Kevin Stefanski has now supported him and his confidence.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski Reacts to Shedeur Sanders’ Draft Fall Amid Accusations of NFL Bias and Agenda
Stefanski clarified that his draft selection doesn’t mean the team doesn’t believe in Sanders. During a conversation with CBS Sports, the Browns head coach said, “We Need To Talk.”
He said about Sanders, “Once you’re in the building, nobody really cares where you were drafted. Clearly, he has the talent to go higher in the draft. He didn’t.” The 43-year-old further said, “None of these guys are finished products, and Sanders certainly has things he can work on.”
Stefanski, the American head coach, also praised Sanders. Speaking to the source above, he said, “In terms of the person, in terms of the kid who’s willing to work, I think that’s who we’re getting.”
Sanders, the son of legendary Deion Sanders, was drafted on the third and final day of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Browns as their 144th overall pick in the fifth round, although he was expected to be picked early, as per several analysts.
The 6-2 ft tall QB concluded his college career as one of the most accomplished players at his position in the history of college football. The Dallas, Texas native played in 50 games overall during his four-year spell in Colorado and completed 1,267-of-1,808 passes (70.1%) for 14,353 yards and 134 touchdowns with 27 interceptions.
Sanders, the 2021 Jerry Rice Award winner, attended Trinity Christian and played for the high school for four years. During his prep days, the player went to a 47-5 record by completing 805 of 1,238 passes for 12,627 yards and 166 touchdowns, which was recorded as the 10th most wins at the high school level.
