The Ottawa Senators are on the verge of elimination from the 2026 NHL Playoffs. They are 0-3 versus the Carolina Hurricanes, making Game 4 a do-or-die one for the Sens. Amid all these concerns, Ottawa has also suffered some significant injury setbacks leading up to this key game.

Game 4 will be played at the Canadian Tire Centre, giving the Senators the much-needed home-ice edge. The game will begin at 4 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday. For fans who want to watch the game from home, here are all the channels and streaming options they can check into:

The Senators’ 2-1 loss in Game 3 was a significant setback since not only did they lose the game, but Jake Sanderson was also injured in it.

Sanderson has been a vital member of the Ottawa defense this season. Unfortunately, he was hit hard in the head by Hurricanes forward Taylor Hall during the second period of Game 3. While Sanderson continued the game following the hit, after a few shifts, he left the ice and never returned.

Later, Senators head coach Travis Green revealed that the 23-year-old defenseman is not feeling well and would not play in Game 4. Not only that, but Green revealed that Artem Zub has suffered an undisclosed upper-body injury and will not play in Game 4.

This means that Travis Green’s team will be without both of its on-field defensemen in what could be its most important game.

Jake Sanderson’s injury has been a major controversy, as he was hit so hard that it knocked his helmet off. Despite that, Taylor Hall received a two-minute minor penalty for this, which has been regarded as a contentious judgment.

The Ottawa coaching staff was furious with the call, saying that the referees should have imposed a much stiffer penalty in light of what occurred to Sanderson.

Following the game, HC Travis Green commented on the penalty, noting that he, too, could not understand why a larger penalty was not handed to Hall. Green claimed, as reported by ESPN:

“I think it’s pretty obvious why he left the game. I just don’t understand how there’s not a five-minute major called on the hit to the head. It’s a blatant hit to the head; it kinda hits you don’t wanna see. I think it’s ridiculous there wasn’t a review.”

Sanderson has been confirmed to be suffering from a concussion, and no return date is currently expected. HC Travis Green, on the other hand, has shown a lot of belief in his squad as they prepare to mount a tremendous comeback that might begin in Game 4.
